I think I have just found a new favourite video artist in the form of Shannon Plumb. She is a one woman show and performs with charm and humour in her self made films. Employing the lo-fi aesthestics of homemade props ands super-8 films, removed of dialogue, she has mastered the art of producing a short silent movies; comparable to the slapstick early 20th century comedies. Her films depict anecdotes from everyday life, using expression and mime to convey life's various roles. My personal favourite has to be an excerpt from "Commericals" where we see Plumb acting as model with an overstated haircut, advertising shampoo. She is muted magic.
